Super Bowl 2025: Taylor Swift gets booed, Kendrick Lamar disses Drake — and what was up with that scoreboard? Here are the most viral moments of the night

February 10, 2025 0

Super Bowl LIX wasn’t just a decisive win for the Philadelphia Eagles — who steamrolled the Kansas City Chiefs with a 40-22 victory — it was also a night packed with fashion statements, unforgettable ads and next-level celebrity drama.

From Taylor Swift getting booed in the stands to Kendrick Lamar using the halftime spotlight to take shots at Drake, the internet had plenty to talk about. And let’s not forget the NFL’s questionable new scoreboard, which fans absolutely roasted.

Here are the moments that made this year’s Super Bowl more entertaining off the field than on.

Taylor Swift gets booed

Swift’s presence at the Super Bowl has been the storyline of the season, but not everyone was thrilled to see her. When she appeared on the giant video screen at Caesars Superdome, a mix of cheers and loud boos rang out. Still, the singer seemed to handle it like a pro — with a bit of side eye and a light smile.

Brady and Snoop — two legends in their own right — delivered a PSA called “No Reason to Hate,” which turned out to be a bit ironic. Once it debuted, social media became flooded with people expressing how much they, well, hated the ad.

The spot was for billionaire Robert Kraft’s Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, and featured the du

o trading barbs in tight close-ups: “I hate you because we’re from different neighborhoods.” “I hate you because you look different.” “I hate you because I don’t understand you.”

It ended with Snoop saying, “Man, I hate that things are so bad that we have to do a commercial about it.” It seemed that a large number of viewers agreed.

Martha Stewart’s Sketchers ad

She may not have been on the field, but Stewart stole the show with her hilarious Skechers commercial. The 83-year-old had social media buzzing, with fans on X crowning her the real MVP of the night.

In the ad, an AI-generated version of Stewart pulls off insanely impressive breakdancing moves — flipping, twisting and defying gravity with Olympic-level skill. While it was clearly AI-generated, fans didn’t seem to mind.

Eagles top Chiefs to win Super Bowl, led by Jalen Hurts and a brilliant defensive performance

February 10, 2025 0

The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions again after a dominant performance in a 40-22 win over the two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs. The win is the first for the quarterback-coaching duo of Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni after they fell in Super Bowl LVII against the Chiefs. With the loss, Kansas City falls short in its quest for the first three-peat in the Super Bowl era.

A brilliant night from the Eagles' defense and an efficient, poised night from Hurts headlined Philadelphia's second Super Bowl title in franchise history. The Eagles held the Chiefs to 225 total yards and forced three turnovers, including a second-quarter Cooper DeJean interception that he returned for a touchdown.

Hurts, who was named Super Bowl MVP, finished the night 17-of-22 for 221 yards through the air and two passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 72 yards — a new Super Bowl record for a quarterback — and a Tush Push rushing touchdown. Saquon Barkley had 97 total yards, with 57 on the ground on 31 touches.

Patrick Mahomes threw for 257 yards and three scores — much of that once the Eagles had the game well in hand — along with two interceptions and a lost fumble. He's now 3-2 in five career Super Bowl starts.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots couldn’t finish the job. The Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers of the 1970s were incredible teams but fell short too. The 1980s San Francisco 49ers and 1990s Dallas Cowboys were NFL royalty but their streaks stopped at two Super Bowls in a row.

There have been 59 Super Bowls played and still no team has won three of them in a row. The Chiefs’ quest for a three-peat starts over at zero after they were thoroughly dominated by the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX. It was one of the most one-sided games in Super Bowl history, which was shocking given the stature of the Chiefs coming in.

Angelina Jolie Is Elegant in a transparent Nude Dress and Red Lip at the Critics Choice Awards

February 08, 2025 0

On Wednesday, Angelina Jolie made her entrance at the Santa Barbara Film Festival wearing an angelic all-white ensemble. Tonight, the Maria actress went for another ethereal ensemble. Jolie arrived at the Critics Choice Awards in a transparent nude dress. She wore her blonde hair down and added a statement red lip.

Jolie is nominated for Best Actress this evening for her work in Maria. This might be one of her last awards show appearances, as Jolie and Maria did not get any Screen Actors Guild nominationsMaria was almost entirely shut out at the Oscars; the film only received a Best Cinematography nod.

In January, Jolie spoke to magazine about how playing opera singer Maria Callas consumed her, but only to an extent. “I was very ‘in it’ when I was in it,” she began. “I had seven months of singing class, Italian class, and opera class. Then, throughout filming, Pablo [Larraín, the director] and the team treated me like a singer—which really meant a lot to me. I had pianos wherever I went, my coaches, my exercises, and every night I was practicing for the next performance. But I’m different because I’m a mom, so I was able to step away from a heavy day at work and think about something else.”

Of Callas, Jolie said, “The more I learned about Maria, the more I felt she deserved empathy and understanding. In those last years of her life, when she was so criticized and so alone, my goal was for the audience to please give her life a second look. Give her one more moment.”

PlayStation Servers Down For More Than 15 Hours—What We Know

February 08, 2025 0
Tens of thousands of PlayStation users reported server outages starting Friday night, which appear to be ongoing as of Saturday morning as the company has acknowledged it is aware of the issue, but it’s still unclear what caused the issue or when servers will be back up.

Are Playstation’s Servers Still Down?

Yes. PlayStation’s status updates webpage says servers are still down. Frustrated gamers on social media platforms including Reddit and X say the servers still aren’t back, as Reddit users have made posts every hour lamenting that they still can’t play games. Some gamers told the BBC the outage is inconvenient because this weekend, a beta version of the anticipated game Monster Hunter Wild is available and Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is offering a double XP weekend.

What Games Are Impacted?

Some popular games available on PlayStation servers that are impacted include Fortnite, Call of Duty, Roblox and Marvel Rivals. Outage reports for all of these games spiked on DownDetector at the same time PlayStation’s servers appeared to go down.

Justice Sotomayor renews her opposition to the court's ruling that ex-presidents have broad immunity

February 07, 2025 0

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor said her conservative colleagues are risking the court's legitmacy with decisions affording President Donald Trump broad immunity and overturning longstanding precedents on other issues.

In her first public comments since Trump began his second term in the White House, Sotomayor told a Kentucky audience that the court has gone too far, too fast on a range of issues. She cited the Trump case during a lengthy response to a question about sagging public confidence in the court.

Sotomayor issued a stinging dissent in that case, and she didn't hold back Wednesday night in discussing public perceptions of the court following its historic 6-3 decision on the immunity question. The court’s conservative majority, with three justices appointed by Trump in his first term, ruled for the first time that former presidents have broad immunity from prosecution.

If we as a court go so much further ahead of people, our legitimacy is going to be questioned," Sotomayor said during the event in Louisville. “I think the immunity case is one of those situations. I don’t think that Americans have accepted that anyone should be above the law in America. Our equality as people was the foundation of our society and of our constitution.”

In her dissent last year, which she read aloud in the courtroom, Sotomayor said the court's majority allowed a president to become a “king above the law” in its ruling that limited the scope of criminal charges against Trump for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol and efforts to overturn the election.

She renewed her objections while discussing the case to the Louisville audience.

“Our constitution itself has provisions not exempting the president from criminal activity after an impeachment,” she said. "So I had a hard time with the immunity case. And if we continue going in directions that the public is going to find hard to understand, we’re placing the court at risk.”

Super Bowl 2025: Arrest made in connection with death of Kansas City sports reporter Adan Manzano

February 07, 2025 0

An arrest has been made in connection with the death of Kansas City sports reporter Adan Manzano while he was in New Orleans to cover Super Bowl LIX.

Manzano, 27, was found dead in his hotel room in Kenner, Louisiana, on Wednesday. Thursday, the Kenner Police Department said that Danette Colbert of Slidell, Louisiana, had been arrested after she was found allegedly using Manzano’s credit card at multiple stores. She was also allegedly seen leaving his hotel room on surveillance footage.

From WWL:

Police said surveillance footage from the hotel showed Colbert with Manzano on the morning of February 5 and later leaving the room alone.

Colbert is currently facing charges related to fraud and theft, but authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active.

According to police, Colbert has a history of financial crimes, including allegations of drugging men, stealing money, and fraudulent credit card use.

The station also reported that the coroner’s office said there were “no obvious signs of trauma” as it investigates Manzano’s cause of death.

Manzano worked for Telemundo Kansas City. In a statement on Wednesday, the station lauded his professionalism and work ethic.

“As KGKC’s sports anchor and reporter, Adan was a true professional and a rising star who exemplified excellence in his work,” the network said in a statement. “We will deeply miss Adan and his passion for sports, and the contributions he made to the local community.

“Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Manzano, according to Fox 4 in Kansas City, was originally from Mexico City. He moved to Topeka, Kansas, in 2018 and graduated from Kansas State. He’s been with Telemundo Kansas City since 2021 and was preparing to cover his third Super Bowl with the station.

Manzano was also covering the game for Tico Sports and was a member of their Spanish broadcast team.

“Adan was a talented and professional broadcaster, providing sideline coverage for the Kansas City Chiefs Spanish broadcast and play-by-play caller for the KC Current,” Tico Sports said in a statement. “He was an enthusiastic and energetic team player who was well liked and respected. Adan was a devoted father to his young daughter, a helpful colleague, and loyal friend. He will be greatly missed by our Tico family and will live on in our hearts and memories.”

Manzano is survived by his daughter, Eleanor. His wife, Ashleigh, was killed in a car crash last April, per Fox 4.

Unlike her Championship ring, the star made no mention of the diamond on that finger on her Instagram Stories. Belichick also wore his Super Bowl rings on his fingers.

Hudson sported a super-risqué silver cutout dress that featured a sequin bra top and skirt with a thigh-high slit and long train.
